NEW HOMES / HELP TO BUY SCHEME
It has been widely agreed we are not building enough new homes to meet the demand particularly with the lack of house building taking place between 2008 and 2014. The Central Bank and ESRI are predicting that we need to be building between 30,000 to 35,000 new homes per annum to catch up with the demand.
FIRST TIME BUYERS
The HELP TO BUY SCHEME is a great advantage for first time buyers who can avail of up to €30,000 of a rebate on tax that had been paid in the previous 4 years prior to making the application.
This Scheme is in place up until the end of December 2021.
Only new homes being built by registered builders on the list of qualifying contractors are eligible.
You must obtain your mortgage from a qualifying lender and the loan amount must be at least 70% of the purchase value of the property.
You can apply for the HELP TO BUY SCHEME through REVENUE.IE
“This is a great benefit to first time buyers who can avail of this Scheme as they are getting good assistance onto the property ladder and also getting an A rated new home in the process”.
