AUCTION FORUMS GALORE
Jordan Auctioneers have completed the sale of several properties recently, moving from the traditional Public Auction forum to Online Auction platforms via www.offr.io and www.livestock-live.com.
Talking to Clive Kavanagh he explains that
‘with constantly moving Covid19 restrictions and limits on gatherings Jordans felt the need to try other forums so plans could be made with some certainty’.
TRIED AND TESTED
Both platforms have worked extremely well so with the sales of both The Old Schoolhouse, Carnalway and Wellfield, Portlaoise completed through OFFR.IO and both achieving considerably more than the guide price. Both properties had generated considerable interest from the outset and the process was transparent for buyers and sellers alike.
Livestock live (LSL) was used for the sale of 13 acres just outside Caragh and this is a more traditional Auction with the video being streamed online and purchasers placing bids whilst the auction runs.
Discussing both sales, Clive explained
‘it was a change for both buyers and sellers and whilst the traditional physical Auction will still be used the online platforms offer very efficient and professional alternatives and suit many people as they don’t physically have to appear, their business is more private, and they can partake from anywhere in the world’
Further expanding on this Clive explains that
‘from the owners / vendors point of view genuinely interested parties have to transfer a deposit along with personal identification and this means that only serious parties are involved at the Auction’.
With so much of business and commercial life now operated from a screen it is likely we will see more and more of this over the years.
